In order to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, the Party Committee of COSCO SHIPPING Energy and the Party Committee of China Merchants Energy Shipping carried out a central group study and joint Party construction activity on December 23 with the theme of “Study the 20th CPC National Congress report and embark on a new journey of shipping together”.

The party committees of both companies studied and discussed the report of the 20th CPC National Congress report from multiple aspects including adhering to the overall leadership of the Party, strengthening the construction of the Party, resolving risks and challenges, accelerating the building of the world-leading enterprises, and practicing the "emission peak and carbon neutrality" strategy, etc. They also studied the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on maritime power and shipping power and the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference.

Ren Yongqiang, Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, and Xie Chunlin, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Merchants Energy Shipping, reviewed the cooperation between the two companies. In conjunction with the study and implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, they exchanged learning experiences on issues of safeguarding national energy transportation security, improving the resilience and security of the global energy industry chain and supply chain, accelerating the building of a world-leading shipping enterprise, working together to create a new ecology of high-quality energy transportation, and promoting clean, low-carbon and efficient energy use and low-carbon transformation of clean energy in transportation.

They also discussed the digital supply chain service and green low-carbon development in energy transportation industry, and looked forward to the future cooperation and development prospects. It was emphasized that we should strengthen the belief of supporting the country with shipping, practice the mission and responsibility of promoting the development of China through shipping and stick to the aspiration of serving the country through shipping. And we should play a greater role in the construction of modernization with Chinese characteristics, and contribute to the construction of a shipping power, a transportation power, and a maritime power. We must be guided by party building, secure the political direction, improve the quality and efficiency of party building and promote the development of green shipping through joint party building.
