On December 22, the Q4 2022 Shell Maritime Partners in Safety China Focus Group Conference, hosted by COSCO SHIPPING Energy and undertaken by Greathorse International Ship Management Co., Ltd., was successfully held. Fourteen related entities, including Nanjing Tanker and COSCO SHIPPING ASPHALT (HAINAN) participated in the meeting. Zhu Maijin, managing director of COSCO SHIPPING Energy and Chairman of Shell's China partner, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. During the conference, members in China reviewed and summarized the implementation of Shell's maritime safety actions. They discussed the significance of the “three actions” in improving ship management, including company leaders' visits to ships, reflective learning and interactive group learning. They also discussed and shared experiences on issues such as inconsistent implementation of safety actions and formalism of each company. Members were encouraged to make full use of and cooperate with the resources of China to further promote the integration of Shell's maritime safety activities with the culture of each company through the introduction of technology and digital transformation.

For the first time, the Shell Maritime Partners in Safety China Focus Group Conference adopted the form of a network roundtable CEO meeting. CEOs of the shipping companies shared their successful cases, interacted with each other on challenges and looked forward to the future. This would further promote the exchange of experiences among shipping companies in China and effectively facilitate the groups in China to better understand the essence of Shell's maritime safety activities and continuously improve the safety management of liquid bulk vessels in China. 

Related personnel from the Ship Management Division and the Safety Supervision Division attended the meeting.
