On March 24, the naming ceremony of the No.3 Carrier under the COSCO SHIPPING PetroChina International LNG Transportation Project was held in Shanghai. Liu Hong, Director General of the Department of Oil and Gas of the National Energy Administration, was invited to name the carrier "Kunlun" and delivered a speech. Mr. Sheng Jigang, Vice General Manager of CSSC, Mr. Feng Bo, Vice General Manager of COSCO Shipping Group and Mr. Yang Jigang, Vice President of PetroChina Company Limited delivered speeches at the ceremony. Leaders of PetroChina International, COSCO SHIPPING Energy, Hudong-Zhonghua and guests from all walks of life attended the naming ceremony.

Liu Hong said in his speech that he was glad to witness the new mode featuring mutual beneficial and win-win cooperation among the three major central enterprises, which demonstrated that all parties implemented the new development concept, practiced the responsibility and mission of central enterprises and promoted economic and social development. This cooperation was of great significance, and it was believed that through sincere cooperation, all parties will sure to resist all kinds of risks and challenges, achieve robust development, and contribute to the great cause of building a modern socialist country with Chinese characteristics. The carrier Kunlun is independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. with a transportation capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. The carrier is equipped with the latest generation of dual-fuel low-speed propulsion power system, as well as advanced environmental protection devices. The energy-saving carrier meets the most stringent emission standards of the International Maritime Organization in terms of various emission parameters.
