On the afternoon of July 24, COSCO SHIPPING Energy and PetroChina International signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Shanghai. Mr. Ren Yongqiang, Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Party Committee of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, and Mr. Wu Junli, Executive Director and Secretary of the Party Committee of PetroChina International, attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches. Mr. Zhu Meijin, Director and General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, presided over the signing ceremony.
Mr. Qin Jiong, Deputy General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, and Mr. Zheng Jun, Deputy General Manager of PetroChina International, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, the two sides will, based on the principles of "openness and fairness, drawing on each other’s strengths, equal priority and mutual benefit and win-win", comprehensively deepen the cooperation in the fields of oil tanker transportation, LNG transportation, chemical liquefied gas, new energy industry chain, carbon emissions and carbon trading, maritime safety management and enterprise party building, so as to ensure the stability of the energy supply chain, and enhance the sustainable development of the industry chain.
The signing of the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement marks a new era of comprehensive strategic partnership between COSCO SHIPPING Energy and PetroChina International, which will inject new momentum to COSCO SHIPPING Energy to "accelerate the building of a world-leading energy transportation enterprise", as well as empower PetroChina International to "accelerate the construction of a world-class global energy trader". Both parties will grasp the development direction, share the market opportunities, and jointly undertake the mission of stabilizing and protecting the chain, to facilitate the construction of building China into a power of maritime and energy.
Relevant leaders and department heads of PetroChina International, PetroChina East China Company, PetroChina Marine Transportation Company and COSCO SHIPPING Energy attended the signing ceremony.
