Recently, with the continuous escort and safeguard provided by Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration, the 300,000-ton ultra-large tanker Mt. YUANSHANHU, owned by COSCO SHIPPING Energy, safely berthed at Berth 171 of Shenghong Refining in Xuwei Port Area, Lianyungang Port and successfully completed its 60th voyage. It became the first ultra-large tanker to berth in Jiangsu Province after the Spring Festival, injecting strong momentum into the "Water Transport Jiangsu" initiative and achieving a "prosperous start" to the New Year.

Mt. YUANSHANHU is 330 meters long and carries 265,000 tons of crude oil, which can meet the fuel demand of 90,000 small fuel vehicles for one year after refining. This voyage coincided with the peak of Spring Festival travel rush and was further compounded by a cold wave. Facing these dual challenges, COSCO SHIPPING Energy closely collaborated with maritime departments, customers, and other relevant parties to implement "six priorities" measures, including priority approval, anchoring, port entry and exit, escort, safety inspection, and customs clearance, ensuring "zero waiting time" for efficient operations of the ship and enabling Mt. YUANSHANHU to achieve "direct departure and berthing, direct entry and exit", significantly enhancing the ship's operational efficiency.

In response to the strong winds and waves brought by the cold wave in the South China Sea and the low temperatures of minus 10°C in Lianyungang, the company made advance preparations and actively implemented the Lianyungang City's Blue Level II Cold Wave Prevention Plan. The crew was organized to strictly implement wind and wave prevention measures and winter precautions: comprehensively checked the antifreeze status of shipboard equipment, completed the draining of residual oil in deck pipelines, anti-slip treatment of passageways, and equipment preheating; conducted safety operation training for all crew members based on the characteristics of the cargo and simultaneously formulated a comprehensive unloading plan to ensure orderly response to emergencies. During the Spring Festival, the crew members remained at their posts and safeguarded the ship's safe arrival at the port with their professional competence and dedication, earning high praise from all parties.

It is worth mentioning that while successfully completing the unloading task with high quality, Mt. YUANSHANHU also successfully passed the SIRE2.0 inspection conducted by an international oil company. During the inspection, the inspectors highly praised the ship's fine management and the crew's professional skills, stating that they "fully demonstrated COSCO SHIPPING Energy's excellent operational capabilities".

The chilly winds did not diminish their work enthusiasm, and difficult tasks did not lower their work standards. The success of this first berthing not only marked a good start for the "Water Transport Jiangsu" initiative in 2025 but also fully demonstrated COSCO SHIPPING Energy's enterprise spirit of pursuing excellence and its responsibility and commitment in ensuring the stability of the energy supply chain.
