On July 25, the “2026 Climate Action Ecosystem Partners Conference”, jointly organized by China Weather Network and the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, was held in Beijing. At the conference, the “Carbon Path Forward—2025 Climate Action Typical Cases” were officially released. COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation stood out from hundreds of candidates for its innovative energy-conservation and emissions-reduction practices, driven by digital-intelligence enablement and technological retrofits, and was selected as a typical case in the “Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction” category.
As a key player in global energy transportation, COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation focuses on two strategic priorities—green and low-carbon development and digital-intelligence enablement—and advances energy conservation and emissions reduction through practical technology deployment and digital management. On the one hand, the company is actively developing a green fleet and implementing energy-saving retrofits across its existing fleet on a large scale. On the other hand, it has independently developed a Smart Vessel Management Platform and a shipping-specific large language model, using digital transformation to enable green development. Going forward, the company will remain committed to its “3050” carbon-reduction targets, accelerate clean-energy fleet development, deepen management innovation through its Smart Vessel Management Platform and respond with greater resilience to profound changes in the global shipping industry, contributing more Chinese solutions and strength to global climate governance.
