Recently, the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport officially announced the results of its 2026 “Safety and Integrity” awards. COSCO SHIPPING Energy headquarters and several subsidiaries received multiple honors in recognition of their solid safety management and strong operating records.
Strengthening Management Foundations to Set a Benchmark for Safe and Trustworthy Shipping Companies
The "Safety & Integrity Shipping Company" selection is highly authoritative and prestigious, with a primary focus on core indicators such as the operation of corporate safety management systems, vessel inspection records, emergency response to accidents and incidents, and compliance with laws and regulations. In this selection, three subsidiaries of the Company—Shanghai Huayi Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Tri-Dynas Oil Transportation Co., Ltd., and Offshore Oil (Yangpu) Shipping Co., Ltd.—successfully earned the accolade. These companies consistently uphold the principle of safe operations, continuously improve their dual-prevention mechanism for tiered risk control and hazard identification, and have established a safety-management framework covering all personnel, processes and areas. Rigorous routine controls have reinforced the line of defense for maritime safety.
Refined Vessel Management Builds a Maritime Safety Fortress
In the "Safety & Integrity Vessel" selection, a total of 12 vessels from the Company were honored with this award. Among them, ten vessels operated by headquarters were named to the list: PING CHI, HE CHI, LING YANG ZUO, LU DING TAN, ZUN YI TAN, XIN YONG YANG, XIN PU YANG, YUAN BEI HAI, YUAN HUA YANG and LIAN SONG HU. In addition, JIN HAI CHAO, operated by Shanghai Huayi Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd., and LIAN AN HU, operated by Offshore Oil (Yangpu) Shipping, received the same recognition. In addition, four vessels operated by Shanghai Northsea Shipping, a company in which the company holds an equity interest—“BEI HAI ZHAN WANG,” “BEI HAI MING WANG,” “BEI HAI YUAN WANG” and “BEI HAI CHANG SHUN”—received the same distinction.
During operation, these vessels strictly implemented all safe production requirements, conducted routine maintenance and safety education in a standardized manner, maintained excellent inspection records and achieved zero violations, providing strong evidence of the continued improvement in the company’s overall safety management.
Leading by Example and Promoting a Culture of Maritime Safety and Integrity
A total of eight captains were named “Safety and Integrity Captains”, including four from headquarters, one from Shanghai Huayi Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. and three from Dalian COSCO SHIPPING Energy. Each captain has dedicated many years to the maritime profession and possesses extensive experience in vessel maneuvering and risk response in complex waters. They consistently uphold the professional principles of "safety first, integrity foremost", protect the "lifeline" of maritime transportation with a strong sense of responsibility and serve as role models for others.
Taking this recognition as a new starting point, COSCO SHIPPING Energy will continue to optimize its safety-management system, leverage the exemplary role of leading units and individuals, steadily improve the safety and efficiency of fleet operations and strengthen compliance management. It will reinforce the maritime-transportation safety barrier and contribute COSCO SHIPPING Energy’s expertise to the high-quality development of the shipping industry.
