On July 22, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, China Shipbuilding Industry and Trade, and Shanghai North Sea signed a contract for the construction of a 155,000-ton dynamic positioning shuttle tanker project in Dalian. Zhu Maijin, general manager of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, Zhao Jinwen, deputy general manager, and leading officials of CNOOC International Trading and CNOOC International attended the signing ceremony as witnesses. In November 2020, the first 155,000-ton DP shuttle tanker of Shanghai North Sea was commissioned to Dalian Heavy Industry. The construction will start in October 2021. The tanker ordered this time is the second of the same type. The whole series is tailored for CNOOC’s transportation needs of Brazil's Mero and Buzios oilfields. The construction of these two ships carries breakthrough significance for China's shipbuilding and shipping industries. The dynamic positioning shuttle tanker has a stable position-control system, which guarantees a higher level of safety for oil loading. Its application is gradually becoming popular in the field of oil and gas transportation at home and abroad. |
